Ways To Coop With Self-Isolation Or Home-Isolation

Coronavirus has engulfed almost the whole world, and it is still spreading in more and more countries over time. At present, more than two hundred countries are being affected, with ten lacs peoples suffering from this disease. The death toll in the world has raised to more than ten thousand.

According to the health gurus, personal hygiene and isolation are the best preventions to ward off and defeat this epidemic tragedy. In this article, you will know the best ways to coop with your home isolation. In the next article, you will get knowledge about how to be benefitted from your home or self-isolation.

Due to home isolation, all things are turned topsy-turvy and the world seems to be upside down.

The outcomes of self-isolation or home-isolation are depression, anxiety, and a feeling of loneliness. You may feel scattered and overwhelmed.

You are stuck in your home and living with changed schedules. And, above all, the continuous minute-to-minute news about the devastation of Coronavirus is making you sick, nervous and stunned. In this indolent situation, you and all of us are sitting on a double-edged-sword, and striving to fight against the fear which is minute-by-minute overwhelming us.

The best way to coop with this frightening situation is to explore an inner space within you – a safe space – the space where you listen to the innermost and deepest voice of your authentic self which tells you how to respond, instead of, to react. Your inner-self will also tell you how to inspire others to fight against this un-willing tragedy, and, how to trigger off your fear, and keep you and others safe.

“Keep yourself within your shell.”

You can coop successfully with your home-or-self-isolation by adopting the following measures. These techniques will help you in relieving your feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression.

1. Cut Down Your Information-Accessing-Time:

Avoid sitting all day in front of T.V. or turning on notifications on your mobile all the time, as at present all news and notifications are about Coronavirus and its devastations.

Listening or seeing this frightening news all day long is reeling you and constantly engaging your fear-response, and you are caught into a hysteric situation all the time.

Remaining in a state of grief or fear for a long time envelops your whole body and your soul, and an atmosphere of grief and sadness surrounds you, and you submerge and collapse in this situation, and the result may be any dangerous or unpleasant situation.

Therefore, mute your all mobile notifications, turn-off your T.V., and turn to it only once or twice throughout the day.

2. Create Schedule/Routine and Strictly Follow It:

I am a freelancer and working from home. Creating a schedule is the best way to engage yourself and do your tasks without fail while staying at home.

Creating a schedule and then strictly sticking to it will provide you a “quiet” you need. Your fear response will not constantly haunt you throughout the day.

Even if you are not working, a schedule is imperative to your daily personal works like brushing your teeth, shaving your beard, bathing, and other works that you may find out, for which you did not find time due to your outside engagements. Making a schedule will provide you a feeling of accomplishment, and that your day was productive, and also that you have not wasted your day.

3. Make Movements:

Movement is imperative for working your nervous system properly. It also helps to ward off your fear, anxiety, depression, flight or fear response by diverting your attention.

Keep moving; you can move within your home.

You can climb stairs, jump rope, dance, and run in place.

Ensure to move many times in a day. Movements will serve multiple purposes – it will help to regulate your mental health, maintain your weight, enhance your blood circulation, and save you from the hallucinations of fear and anxiety.

4. Exercise:

Exercise is the best way to keep you healthy. Without continuous movements and exercise, you will develop a sedentary habit that will damage your health, make you obese, and you will face all the problems related to inactivity.

No need for exhausting or over-working; do it according to your capacity. Exercise regularly; even light workouts for five to ten minutes daily will serve the purpose.

“Do exercise regularly to keep you fit and healthy.”

5. Meditate:

Start your day with meditation. It will help to connect you with yourself and set up your goals for the day.

Meditation is a good way to compose yourself and get ready to face the present challenges for the day.

In chaotic times like we are facing presently, meditation is the best way to connect to yourself – you can do it at any time but the start of the day is the best time.

“meditate to connect to yourself.”

6. Do Domestic Works:

This is high time to give a helping hand to your spouse. I am not asking you for cooking – you can do it, if you know it, and are good at it – at least your family members will enjoy different tastes and different dishes.

If not cooking, you can set your dining table, place dishes on the table. I will not ask you to take the task of washing your utensils, but there is no harm in it – at least, our spouses are doing this for so many years. You can make vegetables, scrub the meat, iron your clothes.

You can paint your house, upright small issues of sanitary or electrical wiring. But, Beware, only do these works, if you are expert in it, otherwise do not it – Because in that case, you will make things worse instead of correcting these, and it may also harm you.
